Dublin overnight advice
Hi
We're flying from Leeds to DUB and staying overnight in the Premier Inn I was hoping for some advice re food and timings. For the night before there seems to be a couple of places within walking of the Premier Inn or we could eat at the airport after landing - what's best? For the morning I'm a bit confused with the offerings for breakfast from Terminal 2 - should we eat at premier Inn first or at the airport? Finally our flight is 09:50 what time would you recommend we check bags and also what time do you think we should go through pre-clearance? Any advice welcome! |

I'd check into hotel and then eat. There is a TGIs and Hogs & Heifers right beside the premier Inn. Not sure what breakfast is like in Premier Inn but there is a good food court in T2 after going through security. Does hot and cold breakfast items. Time to arrive is always hard as you never know how busy it is going to be. If planning to eat there I'd give myself 3-3&1/2 hrs. You do bag drop, security, eat, a bit of a walk, another smaller security then immigration. Nothing but a couple of small places there. Be aware as you do immigration here you can't bring the usual banned items in states on the actual plane so no fruit etc.

How long before the flight would you go through immigration?

The food offerings at Dublin airport are mediocre at best. I'd look close to the hotel.
We normally head through immigration around 60 minutes before departure. We've never had any trouble buying sandwiches etc in the departure lounge. The immigration officer was always informed and they let us through as they were for consumption on the plane.

Any time we travel to America from Dublin we come down from Belfast the night before.
We would recommend driving a short distance (about 5mins) from the Premier Inn there is a garage beside the Clayton Hotel that has a Burger/Pizza place. It is reasonably priced and definitely recommend it the night before departure. In relation to breakfast I would wait until checked in and through security. The hotel is always going to be extortionately priced for what you get. |

food is fine to take through security but you cannot take drinks through. you have to wait and purchase those once cleared security
