Fitting car seats

Morning Dibbers

I have heard from various people that fitting the car hire car seats are very tricky, can anyone shed any light on this and what are other peoples experience of this? Is it really that difficult?

Thanks

Having 3 kids and a variety of car seats, I presumed I’d be ok. I didnt have a clue. The kind lady from Alamo guided me, although i don’t think she was allowed to do so, (healthy and safety). The car seats rely on top tethering, but I didn’t know where all the metal loops were, and I’ll be looking at YouTube videos this time to help before I go. The high back boosters were fine, it was the toddler seat that was a pain.

When we went last year my son who had booked a child seat had his in the car ready for him, although they made sure to say that it was loose and that he would have to make sure it was fastened correctly. Like someone already said health and safety. I on the other hand asked to select my own car and got great assistance, I asked whether they would be willing to let me take a car seat to save having to swop my sons seat from one car to another and got one for the $20 tip. The lovely girl even offered to help me fit it if required. As I did not need it at the airport I declined assistance and fitted it the next day. It was fairly straight forward with the help of the chair and car instructions to find the anchors. What I would say was that the Alamo staff were great and whilst I think they should not fit them if you ask nicely I think they will help.
