Disney Cruise or a week onsite at Universal

We are hopefully looking at our next Florida vacation.
Either a week at Disney & a week at Universal.

I have never been on a Disney Cruise. But we just cant afford all three, so we are trying to decide whether to keep the week onsite each for 7 nights, or Disney 10 nights & Cruise 4 nights. Kids will be 7, 9, 11, 12 at time of travel. Currently they are not ready to hit the bigger faster rides.

So hard to decide lol. How you ye manage to make the final decision lol.

We’re doing Disney and universal this year (split 5 nights universal / 9 nights disney). Next year we’re doing a DCL Caribbean cruise for 7 nights, and adding 4 or 5 nights at universal.

Doing a Disney cruise is a lot of Disney - you’ll get the characters (and the queues are usually much less) and the whole experience is perhaps more immersively Disney than the parks in my view. On top of that, I’m not sure we’d need to add more Disney to it hence we’re twinning it with universal to get a bit of a ride fix.

Our kids (and me!) are not really into the bigger faster rides and we found universal a waste as there wasn't much we could go on. We were easily done in 2 days so I couldn't imagine spending a week there.

I'd go disney cruise every time - it's a fantastic experience.

I think it really depends on the kids. Universal has a lot of big thrill rides. If your kids aren't into them yet I doubt they would enjoy that more than a cruise to be honest

Would it not make sense to do universal and a Disney cruise?
That way you get a bit of both.
This is our plan for next year .
We’ll be doing a week or so at universal but also doing seaworld and DC and then a 4 night Disney cruise.
Will probably do MNSSHP so we get to at least visit magic kingdom.
It’s a loose plan though as it’s changed about 4 times already ..
