Dublin connection time

Hi we fly end of August Edinburgh to MCO via Dublin, the stopover time is 1h 45m and now worried with all the airport chaos that even a slight delay in Edinburgh could be an issue, has anyone flew this recently or have experience of a flight being delayed when you have a connecting flight to catch with Aer Lingus (or any airline)

It might be OK if everything runs perfectly. You have to taxi, disembark, possibly get between terminals, through US security and immigration and be at the gate 45 minutes before the gate closes.
I always recommend going the night before in case of delays. The bit problem is there are so few flights from Dublin so if you miss it, it can be difficult to get a new flight.
We use Dublin as our first choice and always get there 4 hours before. Just not worth the risk.
Can you rebook and go the night before?

Thanks, there’s an earlier flight but would mean 5.5hrs in Dublin, ideally wouldn’t want to do that if I didn’t need to, I’ve messaged Aer Lingus to see what they say. Aware if we miss the flight we would need to wait another day which would be a disaster

TBH., unless AL can guarantee that your inbound absolutely wont be delayed (which they cant), then you have a fair risk.
An extra couple of hours in the airport seems a much better option to stressing and possibly missing a flight and ruining the holiday. PS, it may be more an a day delay as has happened a few times that I know of.

I’ve read of people taking over an hour to get through preclearance at Dublin airport. I would recommend giving yourself the extra time by switching your flight to the earlier one.

Try contacting them through Twitter. Not ideal but it can yield results.
