Food to have while camping

We are off to Tenby camping on Thursday for 3 nights as part of a group of about 14!

The first night we are going to the pub but we are wondering what sort of food to take for the last 2.

We will all have our bbqs with us but thats about it.

We have an plug in cool box so were thinking, milk, cheese, sausages and burgers.

We will take cereal for breakfast.

I dont really want to stock up on crisps/nuts etc but i have a feeling that we will want to eat to keep the cold at bay!

Any suggestions welcome

Thank you - maybe I should have added we only have a camping stove and 3 pans!

I think we will avoid chicken as it will be difficult to clean things properly

If you have a hook up you could take a toasted sandwich maker, loads of different recipes.

We camp with no electricity and just one of those suitcase cooker. We do stir fry - we buy frozen cooked chicken, if kept in the bottom of the cool box it will defrost but stay cold. Also spaghetti and meatballs (we either cook vegetarian meatballs, or those in the shrink wrap packet, cook pasta and put the saucepan on the floor while you cook the rest. Tinned food, like curry, chilli etc are good.

I always used to take a curry / chilli / bolognese frozen in an ice cream tub. It will slowly defrost and be fine for the second night. Pouches of rice which can be heated up really quickly in a pan with a spot of water. Discuss who is taking what and share out.

There should be washing up facilities for the pan and the tub gets thrown away.

If it is just the 2 nights can you not bbq each night. All of you get together so you are not all taking the same items and share between you.

Lots of wine !

A friend of mine used to make a chilli st home then freeze it. If you pop it in the bottom of you cool box it defrosts slowly and keeps everything else cold. Then just reheat it in a pan and make another pan of rice. You can take nachos and jars of salsa etc for with it.
