Just booked our second cruise! Portugal, Spain and Guernsey!

So after a very successful Norwegian Ffjords cruise back in May 2018 my mum and I have booked our second cruise, this time to Portugal, Spain and Guernsey

it's not until May 2020 which is aaaaaaaages away, but we are so excited to have something to look forward too

We sail with P&O on Ventura from Southampton, and our stops are as follows:

St Peter Port
Oporto
Lisbon
Vigo

Do any of you have any top tips for these destinations? Any good excursions, sights to see, things to do?

I've already been warned about the Bay of Biscay so we will make sure we take our sea sickness tablets every day just in case!

I'm so excited and can't wait to be on our balcony with a glass of fizz waving goodbye to the UK

Oporto is lovely, head down to the historic 'Ribiera' district, and walk along the river, tasting the port and cheese as you go!

Lisbon, be sure to try the Egg Tarts. Lots of streets to wander, and shops etc.

The bay can be rough, be sure to start your tablets before you set sail for them to be effective.

Have a wonderful time!

We’re on Ventura in a couple of weeks and visiting St Peter Port out of the ones on your cruise.
I’ll report back after - haven’t been on P&O before. We did a fjords cruise before too, with RC and enjoyed that.

In Lisbon the ho-ho bus goes out to Belem where the best ‘egg tarts’ or Pasteis de Belem are made (Pasteis de Nata everywhere else in the world) - go to the original bakery, it’s a delight. pasteisdebelem.pt/en/
Porto is great just to wander round, lots of lovely bars and cafes. The old trams in both cities are fun.
In Guernsey we rented a car for the day with pier pick up and drop off. It was cheap and we had plenty of time to see the island as well as wander round St Peter Port before getting the tender back to the ship.

Edited at 02:42 PM.

I live in St Peter Port

Feel free to pass on some info as to the type of things you like to do or if you are looking for somewhere to eat and I am happy to make some recommendations.

You might like to get a bus or taxi to Guernsey Candles - you can both carve your own candle and they have the most lovely gift shop. (Check out the Facebook page).

Thank you for this post

We are following this itinerary but a month earlier, it will be our first cruise so all advice and tips welcomed.

I too cannot wait for the sail away!
