Rumour Blizard Beach to close earlier (Sept) for winter Refurb

Rumours are currently stating that Disney are to close BB earlier than currently sheduled for its annual rehab as they need longer to do some improvement work. It’s being suggested it will close on Sept 7th and reopen on 5th Jan.

Disney are looking to add parkwide lighting and some other improvements so they can offer a nighttime event like they do at TL, plus they want to add a tube return belt to run off rapids so guests don’t have to carry the tube up to the top. There are also rumours of a possible new slide but that’s much less certain and has been rumoured each year for a few years now and still hasn’t happened.

Oh I hope not! We much prefer BB to TL and it's open for our first week so we were hoping to visit it then.

Don't love blizzard beach but will be gutted as it will make Typhoon Lagoon busier!

Pity. Me and my lad wanted to do both water parks in a day in October.

To be honest I am becoming increasingly annoyed with Disney. We planned our trip for September to avoid GE. Fair enough that was brought forward. We still had the escape of the water parks now one of those is closed meaning substantially increased crowds at TL. Plus the nonsense of the fast pass tiering at HS making that park extremely difficult to plan for.

Not happy...
