The long trip down under part 8

Christmas Day!

I realise this has been a long time since part 7 but we've had loads on and now that we are just over a week away from our next trip I thought I'd finish off the last one first!

So its Christmas eve and we are at my Sisters just north of Sydney. We didn't do much this day aside from pop to the supermarket and buy in the food for XMAS dinner. Obviously this was a very unusual experience for us as it was near the 30s outside and the normal fare was dispensed with for the standard Ozzy bbq!

Christmas morning arrived and the boys had a "smallish" visit from Santa who was able to track them to the other side of the world. They didn't get much though and handled the dissapointment (if there was any) quite well. We spent the morning and early afternoon at my sisters with a few webcams to the family back home and cooking the lunch on the barbie. Here's some photos of a very hot Christmas day!

After a brief rest to let way too much food go down we thought that if we had come all this way we HAVE to go to the beach for Xmas. While there we had a good look round the rock pools and the boys went for a swim. These pictures are taken after 7pm! It was great having nice long days at that time of the year. It was weird phoning family from the beach to wish them a happy xmas morning too!

Lovely way to spend Christmas Day. I spent Christmas Day in Malaysia many years ago, it was very odd being on a tropical island at Christmas!
