Skipper Canteen Mini Review
Just got back from Skipper Canteen. I’d say it was just OK, and definitely overpriced.
We had the potstickers to start. They were nice although Mrs YT thought they were a bit slimy (they weren’t, they were just steamed). I would recommend those. Kids had the adult fried chicken. It was an average dish at best, with basically a fried chicken breast, and a bit of rice. Mrs YT had the noodles, these were probably the hit of the bunch and she said they were very nice. I had the lamb. It was very tasty and lean but there just was not enough of it. There were basically three pieces from a rack of lamb and they were not large or thick. They were a bit bigger than the tikka ones my local Indian does as a starter for £7. I just googled photos of this dish and guess what- many Disney photos show it with 4 pieces, so 1 piece seems to have been lost in a penny pinching exercise. Great taste, poor value at $29. Service was slow - 1 hour for mains to come out. Server we did not like much, didn’t seem that bothered. Gave 16% tip (straight $20). Overall, nowhere near as good as Yak and Yeti which is cheaper, has better food and service for a similar type of menu (Y&Y also has more choice). So I’d give it 2.5/5 and doubt I’ll be back. Wave to visit next and I’ll post up another mini review.

It’s funny how different an experience can be from one family to a another. We went this year and it was our favourite on site restaurant whilst on the DDP. Brilliant food, fantastic server and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of MK. Sorry to hear your experience wasn’t the same.

My DH wants to go here, I have put it in, but I am not really that bothered about trying it.

I have looked at the menu a few times and it just doesn't do it for me.
If the Server was poor he wouldn't have got 16% off me!
