I don’t think you can get more reliable than a Micra.
I hate corsas too. Only prob is my husband drives a W reg one, and it just won’t die 😂

I used to have 207/208 diesel and then swapped to a fiesta diesel but it wasn't for me. It didn't have the same power.

The actual car was lovely though.

I'm now back to Peugeot but gone bigger with the 308.

The fiesta is a good car. Usually cheap to run and a decent price. VW of Peugeot tend to be more expensive so you'll get a newer fiesta for your money.

Fiesta 2008 onwards are not bad , but don't expect high performance out the 1.25 variant. I would go for 1.4 or 1.6.

I’ve bought a new Micra last year and absolutely love it.

I’ve had various small cars over the years.
The KA and the micra were the most reliable. I had a really bad accident with a lorry in the KA actually and it held up admirably. I mean it was a mess, but I walked away with a stiff neck 🤷
I’ve never heard good things about Corsas.
OH is about to turn 17 and we think we’re decided on a Polo for him.

Wouldn't touch a corsa either and would never recommend a diesel older fiesta. Loved mine at the start but that was a very costly mistake when the injectors went.

My Mum's Corsa is gutless, can't do any overtaking in it.

Just to add, I’ve had a 2014 Corsa since, well 2014 😃 and it has been fab. No issues and a really smooth drive (it’s an auto) so not sure why they get a bad rap. I love mine.
