BA Voucher - Useable Until 30th April 2022 - Might They Delay This Further?

Anyone else hoping they delay this further?

We assumed we would use our cancellation voucher well before then, however I will not go if any restrictions at all are in place, so potentially this summer may be out. Aside from the fact we prefer warmer weather and so wouldn't go in the winter months anyway, we may even return to this virus next winter, on a smaller scale.

We usually go April / May for warmer weather, but two weeks before 30th April incorporates Easter weekend, and with it, the larger crowds and dearer prices.

I wonder if BA would extend this if travel bans continue through the year?

I really hope so, I just posted in the BA sale thread that I hope BA increase the 'book with confidence commitment' from Aug 2021 until end of year. And also increase the re-book date from April 2021 to as far into next year as poss.
If they did this I'd book right now

I am in the same position as you. I am currently booked from 8th May 21. We will not be travelling then and don't think it will happen. I asked BA if they would extend the voucher and their answer was they didn't know yet. I want to move it to May 22 for the same reason as we prefer the warmer months and don't want to go in April. BA said at the moment they could only give me a voucher to use up until April 22 so I am waiting it for them to cancel the holiday and so I can get a refund. I'm hoping by then, they will extended the voucher by then. With the current national lockdown, I really don't see how they cannot. It is not safe to travel at the moment and I know there is talk about covid tests before travelling, but after already spending thousands I don't want to pay any extra and rather wait it out as hard asa it is!

I dont think anyone will tell you, this is buisness sensitive information and BAs main desire will be to get people rebooking quickly so until they feel a buisness need to extend they wont.

Even if people are unable to travel? They will loose a lot of loyal customers if they don’t. I understand that they want people to rebook as soon as possible, but I don’t see how the possibility is realistic for it to happen

I really hope they do extend it as I’ve got a lot of money sitting in a BA voucher at the moment. I’m hoping to use some of it this summer but if not April 2022 isn’t really long enough away and I’ll end up having to use it on something I don’t really want too just to use it up.

I’m booked on a BA fly drive to Miami for Easter. Anyone know if the flights are still going (LHR to Miami highly lightly not cancelled) but we aren’t allowed to travel for holiday purposes where we stand? Do we have to take voucher or are they obliged to give refund (as we booked a “holiday“ not a flight only) in same way as they would if the flight was cancelled?

At the moment there is no news about cancellations for April yet from BA. If your flight isn't cancelled then you would be offered a voucher they are not obliged to give a refund - it is only if your flight is cancelled that you get a refund of your deposit. At the moment BA Holidays have been proactive in sending emails advising that due to present restrictions under national lockdown holidays are cancelled and an automated refund is given.

I know it is difficult but it is a case of watching and waiting - I am sure if there is any change at all it will feature a lot on our forum.

Thanks for that. I understand about the flight situation if they aren’t cancelled, but it does give a bit of hope that since we booked a “holiday” not flight-only they MAY give a refund. Will sit tight and keep fingers crossed until 3 weeks before when balance is due and hope things are a bit clearer by then.
