Ocean Florida, VA flights
So I'm having a complete freak out. Ocean Florida won't give us flight reference until 12 weeks before.
Myself, husband and two kids who will be 6 and 13, 13 year old is a nervous flier. What chance do we have of managing to get seats together when they eventually hand over the flight reference? |

You should be fine. We’ve previously only been allocated seats at check in and managed to sit 5 of us together.
3 months before the flight should be fine to get seats together. Absolute worse case they will sit 2 and 2 so there will be 1 kid for 1 parent. The kids won’t be sat on their own. |

Is this a flight only booking or a holiday booking?
Its not an unusual situation. We've booked a holiday to the Maldives with Emirates Holidays and we can't book seats until the final balance has been paid. |

Ask Ocean to tell you seats numbers then. All VA economy classic bookings made now you choose your seats at time of booking.

It's for a holiday booking with VA flights.
They said they won't tell us anything until 7-12 weeks before regardless of if the full balance is paid before then. I'm crossing everything we will be able to book seats all together. I emailed them to ask when they will be booking the flight and they answered the email but not the question. It's my first time booking a holiday this big, and our first time to Florida and Disney. I think the gravity of the planning is completely overwhelming me, but also don't want to book every detail with Ocean Florida and have all my eggs in one basket. Thanks everyone, slightly more chilled that it's possible to get seated together at short notice |

When are you travelling? Its weird because I have always got my virgin ref number on my invoice ( the one they email confirming your booking) and also sales advisor confirms it for me at time of booking.
This is always apx 11 months from travel date. |

We are booked through them and I went onto BA website to look at out flights as there a ref number next to the flight information but can’t book seats and we are supposed to go in 8 weeks . Although I don’t hold out much hope we will be going . But when I queried this they said the flights haven’t been ticketed yet as if they get them ticketed it is harder for them too change them again as we have already changed them .

I struggle with the concept of booking other than directly with the airlines, but that attitude may come with the benefit of experience. Others who have, are accessing seats while you are still waiting at Oceans convenience.
Time has shown that a ‘normal’ Orlando vacation consists of flights, accommodation and park tickets with possibly a car thrown in. It is easy to expand from that. All are available easily and with no complication. If no car, then a taxi in and out is hardly going to break anybody.. or Uber if adventurous. I am sure that you will be absolutely fine, but recent times have shown that it is in fact easier to shut down and refund on a DIY than through an agent in any case. I feel sure that after this first experience, you will realise how simple it is and never look back when booking in the future. You really have nothing to worry about and in the event that you have a snag, there are plenty both on the DIBB and if there, in Florida who will give good advice, given that there are no language difficulties. Have a great time!
