This is how dark mine went. Definitely not dark like my sunglasses but I liked that I didn’t really have to think about them. Last year I had glasses in my pocket and swapped them constantly. |

I don't have a picture of me with my mine (and I haven't worn them in Florida yet) but mine go a lot darker than that - almost black in fact.

I did use an independent optician that, convienently, is only a 5 minute walk from my house. He only makes the glasses (no eye tests) and was brilliant. For the same price as Specsavers (my usual optician) he was able to provide me with rimless transition glasses with custom lens width (to accommodate my fat face )
My backup prescription sunglasses (and my reading glasses) were bought online through Glasses Direct and, while they do the job, aren't as comfortable for long term use.

Mine go darker than that but not enough in the Florida sun even with a hat. I think it depends on your eyes as well though. My daughter has very dark eyes with long dark eyelashes and doesn't struggle at all without sunglasses.

I have transitions form Asda and they go much darker
I have this year for my hols gotten some prescription sunglasses and completely clear glasses - transitions are great unless you ar going into a darkened room - I have very poor night vision as it is and they take too long to lighten up - they are fine for durin day when your out and about shopping, etc

I’ve worn transition lenses for years and never had an issue in Florida, even when driving.

Bought some for this trip. I’ve mixed views, they don’t match sun glasses but combined with a hat work well. If I’m more outside (Epcot for example) I’ll still wear the sun glasses.

I only wear glasses for driving, but they worked really well in Orlando and through glass. I have a grey colour transition lens in and they go much darker than both of the brown coloured lens in the photos above.
I would go and try some out, I do think the darkness depends on the colour of the lens. The more exposure to uv light the quicker they react. They are really good and in fact my pair with the lenses has just broken and I didn’t realise how much I would miss the transitions. If you have a Costco membership they have a free upgrade to transition lenses until 22/9. |

Excited about Disney

Got a pair for my last trip in 2018. Honestly they arent fab. The suns so bright there they didn't go dark enough and end up squinting and when you go into a shop they take forever to change back that you end up lifting them up
