First single: Love Me Do - The Beatles.
I was about 12, so 1967/8 (when we got our first record player) from a local market stall that sold ex-jukebox singles (without centre !) for a couple of shillings (20 pence). First LP: Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits (the first time round). In 1974, soon after I started work. Edited at 07:36 AM. |

I don't think my parents where aware of it's content at the time, but when I was about 10/11 I was obsessed with Batman, I had the toys, comics, cartoons and the Michael Keaton film, anyhow one Christmas my parents got the cassette of Princes Batman soundtrack from 1989, and then developed my love for Prince!

I used to be given the Top Of The Pops albums every Christmas from an ages maiden aunt .
They were dreadful - the running order on the sleeve never matched up with what was on the record ! I have still got all my records - 45s, 78s (from my Grandparents ) and albums including the dreadful Top Of The Pops - boxes of them in my storage units - might dig them out and donate them all |
