ESTA, Cancelled or Suspended?

Hi everyone hope you’re doing well in these strange days, anyway my question is in regards to a current ESTA, can anyone confirm if a “ Valid “ i.e. available to use into 2022, has been cancelled or is it “suspended “. I’ve checked the official website and my ESTA is showing as approved but somewhere in the recesses of my mind I thought the U.S. had cancelled the ESTA, does anyone have any idea as to what the correct situation is at the moment?

I will try and contact the proper authorities and try and get a definitive answer but I suspect that may take a long time, not that I’m going shortly,should have been and come home by now.

I think it was only for people who had done API for flights in the time frame of the block on flights from the UK.

As sha9 says according to anecdotal evidence on here, people who have attempted to travel may have had their ESTA cancelled.

Massive warning on ESTA home page about "attempting to travel" and maybe doing API is considered to be an attempt to travel.

A few dozen Dibbers have successfully applied for new ESTAs in the past few weeks.

Logged into mine and it is still showing as authorised, we did fill in the API for our trip in August. Am keeping an eye on it as am expecting them to cancel them on a rolling basis if the travel restrictions are not lifted

My ESTA is still showing up as valid despite our original departure date of 23rd April 2020, I wonder if BA didn’t send any API information as they cancelled the flight and that’s why it’s still good to go?

Anyone flying VS would be safe as you can't do API with them until 24 hours out. We were due to fly VS on 21 April but cancelled on 5th so no risk of us doing API.

Our ESTAs due for renewal this month and flying, everything crossed, in November with BA. Won't be doing API until October.

I did my api months ago , ba cancelled our flight .

Would my esta have been cancelled then , as we have another trip booked for September

You can easily check its validity from the official site. You'll need your passport though as it asks for numbers and dates
