I miss the menu bar which had a few short cuts on it. The site is certainly more difficult to navigate and my feeling is it's not as user friendly.

You now have the option of hiding all the forums. It will remember the setting. You can show them again at any time.

The above is similar to how it used to look.

The image you showed was from a mobile phone and on there the forum spy in fixed desktop style will look squashed (as expected).
Well, it's very different, in my opinion And it's nothing to do with it looking squashed on my mobile either as I've always viewed it on the fixed desktop style on my mobile, so I'm perfectly used to that.

The old version had columns and the information was separated more, whereas now it's just 1 column containing all the information, which makes it feel a bit like information overload to me. Plus there's now a very large 'shouty' font size for the thread title. A couple of screenshots taken from my desktop. Personally, I preferred having the information separated out, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

For anyone that would like to see them actually on their PC to compare, rather than as screenshots, then this is the old:https://web.archive.org/web/20190416...s/dibb_spy.php

Forum Spy didn't work in the mobile style. With the changes it now does. It was way too wide before with the extra columns.

Didn't it work with the mobile view you set up though? I never used it as I liked the desktop view on my phone still, but I know lots of others happily did.

Will all the forums be going to 1 column, or will they stay as multiple columns (6 on the desktop view, so twice as many as Forum Spy, but still the same page width) Will threads stay at 2 columns or also be going to 1? I'm a spread sheet lover, so maybe that's why I prefer the column layout

Agree. I hope DIBB wont be using this platform as it is worse across the board. I wish MSE would go back.

I would like to know what you think is wrong with MSE. I don't use the site much but always thought the forums were clunky. The new style looks better.

Is it the style you don't like or the functionality? Is it on the desktop or mobile that you find MSE worse?

Some drill down of the issues could help us decide on what we do. All the big forums have gone over to Xenforo now. It seems to work well across desktop and mobile devices. One style that flows between all devices.

Fair enough.

To me, they don't look that different. Just the 3 columns merged into one. Which I slightly prefer and saves some space (although tbh both look fine). They both show the same info.
