I sound like I could work on Eastenders. I have a gentle cockney accent until I am annoyed and the Phil Mitchell comes out. My husband reckons that’s why no one ‘starts’ on me because I have resting b*tch face and sound like an Essex gangster

Received pronunciation.
Only joking.
Its laughable people had elocution lessons really isn't it- Like saying a regional accent is not good enough.
I work in professional services and there are quite a few middling regional accents. Not really broad, but definately the accents are there. Many years ago in my profession, such accents were rare so good to see the change.
There's areas around me where the Yorkshire accent is really strong, but seems to be dying out the really strong stuff.
I did English Language at A level and language development and so find this interesting.

I sound like the cast of TOWIE :/

Not my favourite of the accents but being born and bred in Brentwood will do that to you

Scottish, despite living in the NE for 32 years. DS does a great mimic of me. I was a teacher and when went home to Scotland for hols they said I was talking posh as I was talking slower. When I went back to Geordieland they couldn’t understand me at all and my TA had to translate the lessons for my class, especially the spelling tests.
