BA voucher/rebooking - quick heads up

We have a booking (package) for 30/4 that we booked last September (9th) just phoned Ba to move the booking to 23/9 and they weren’t able to do it as they can only move it up to 12 months from the original booking date. I would have to take a voucher then rebook with the voucher as they were adamant I can’t apply a voucher to an existing booking only a new one and can’t do it all as one transaction. They advised the voucher could take up to 7 working days to come through & they couldn’t hold a booking. Bit frustrating as I don’t know if the prices I’m seeing will still be available in a few days.

I would try again. I had a booking and wanted to add on connecting flights but they had to cancel my booking and rebook they applied for a voucher for my deposit. They booked the new flydrive and I was told once the voucher came through they would apply it to the new booking I had no extra to pay on booking and my deposit voucher was applied as soon as it came through.

I’ve cancelled a trip to Crete in July, cancelled it on Sunday online and the voucher came through today. Same with my parents. That holiday was a booking issuing a voucher from a cancelled Florida booking, and we were told at the time (last august) that it can only be put towards a new booking and not an existing booking.

I requested a voucher a few weeks back as I wanted to book a new holiday as the price was great, and the voucher was through within 30 mins, that was after seeing another poster on here say they got it within 5 mins. So at times they are defnitely turning them around pretty quick, but obviously could take up to 7 days, just wanted to state my experience.

I cancelled 2 holidays yesterday. Like you, I couldn’t transfer as it was more than 12 months between booking and the new date but the advisor cancelled the holidays, requested the vouchers and booked my new holiday all on one call. She said the vouchers take a few days and both would be applied to my new booking.

I’d suggest giving BA another call and asking a different agent the same question, sounds like you got a duff one!
