POFQ adjoining rooms - a heads up
Hi,
We leave today after 3 weeks and for those staying at POFQ: if you get an adjoining room you can hear everything in the room next door, and I mean everything. Our first might was a little hellish after such a long flight: a domestic argument and TV on till the early hours so had to call to front desk who the promptly asked next door to keep it down. I have mentioned this to front desk a couple of times during our stay, but with the new wooden flooring I'm not sure there is much they can do. I'm a light sleeper and it wasnt nice some nights to kept awake for such a long time. Anyways, just a heads up

Thanks for this. I wonder which rooms are adjoining? I’m going next year and that would drive me crazy. I wonder if you can request to not have a room with adjoining doors?

We were next to a room which you would class a corner room, I.e two windows but I'm not savvy enough on the layout. If you could specify no adjoining door I definitely would

Thanks for sharing, we are staying at POFQ next year. After living next to the neighbour from hell for 2 years I’ve become extra sensitive and anxious to noise such as arguing and being able to hear constant talking so I’ll be sure to request a non-adjoining room.
I’m going to have a look at Touring Plans website as they have very detailed maps and plans of the hotels so they may list which ones are adjoining and which are not. Thanks again for the tip.

Our one at Riverside was adjoining, fortunately with our family
But yes you can hear everything, we were also on the ground floor and could hear people getting up in the night. We had a corner room too so not sure if that always means an adjoining room? |

Touring plans is a good shout, however our room request (high floor) couldn't be met and with POFQ being a quite small resort I hope they would move you, but not always possibly due to availability

I detest adjoining rooms. I requested a room with no adjoining door which we got, on the ground floor very close to main lobby. I would refuse to stay in a room with adjoining door, always have. Disneyland Paris in sequoia lodge I would not give up until they moved us... To a much nicer room never mind the adjoining door!

I had an adjoining room and didn’t hear a lot of noise - just in case anyone is now panicking

We had an adjoining room at Boardwalk inn once and had issues with noise from the family next door. I've since read on here that you should put towels in the gap between the 2 doors but if I could request not having an adjoining door I would.

We only stayed 3 nights but i mentioned this in my trip report. I opened our side of the connecting door and stuffed a pillow into the bottom it actually did keep some noise out!
