Have holidays gone up a lot since Airlines have gone bust?

This is our 5 trip to Orlando but we only been with Travel city direct and Thomas Cook. With Virgin closing down TCD and Thomas Cook going bust is it just Virgin that go direct to Orlando international and Tui direct to Sanford?
Has the prices gone up a lot since there no real completion? Who else flights to Orlando direct?

Depends where you are in the UK. We are in Manchester, so are now limited on direct flights. The prices skyrocketed when TC went under.

BA and Norwegian fly from Gatwick.

But yes, there has been an increase since TC went bust. I’ve been tracking flight prices since last summer to see if we could afford a return trip this summer. Hovered around the £1000 pp for a while, would normally pay about £700 in school hols. Prefer manchester but only Gatwick coming down price wise. It started to come down a bit in early feb, then got a great price so booked mid feb.

That’s not going to work so well though is it! Will just have to hope we can get something reasonable for next year.

Hope that helps

I don’t want to drive back from Gatwick again as last time I nearly crashed on the way back from been tired. I’m willing to go as far as Manchester if it’s cheaper with a night over and parking than going to East Midlands Airport or get a lift or taxi to Birmingham Airport.

At Gatwick there are day rooms available at the Bloc hotel so you can have a little bit of sleep when you get back before driving, if that works for you?

We want Manchester too but are considering via Dublin. Some of the prices quoted in here make it sound appealing. Worth a look.

Dublin shows good prices sometimes...

... we have been getting flights for c£450 recently through ticket from Isle of Man to MCO via Dublin.

Considering it normally costs over £100 to fly IOM to DUB... not a bad price!

Aerlingus fly from Manchester to Orlando via Dublin, bonus is you can clear US customs there and save time in Orlando. I'm also considering indirect flights from Manchester if Virgin direct are out of our budget for next year.
