Where was the first place you stayed in Orlando?

For us it was the Travelodge in Kissimmee opposite Old Town (Now a Holiday Inn) back in the early 90s. Where was your first hotel/villa/condo?

Holiday Inn Express up the top of international drive for us. Was in the old "motel" bit, not the tower. There was mould on the walls and lizards in the shower! We woke up on the 4th day to police tape in the car park - a domestic argument resulting in a shooting. I cried...

We booked villas after that.

Hyatt Regency previously The Peabody. We decided we spent way too much on the hotel as we spent hardly any time in it so the next visit was Rosen Inn at Point Orlando.

192 in Kissimmee next to a toll road in 1993. It was a chain but can't remember which.

A really horrible Days Inn Hotel in Lake Beuana Vista in 1995. It was awful. We complained and got moved rooms and then complained again when we got home and got compensation. The next year Virign had removed it from their brochure. We were really impressed with how they dealt with our complaint.

The only good thing about it was it had a really good Sizzler next to it that we ate in pretty much every night.

Despite the horrible hotel (and a dodgy hire car) it was probably the best holiday I've ever had. I went with my Mum and Dad and it was first time any of us had been to America. I spent the whole time not being able to believe I was actually there. My Mum is in a wheelchair and they really looked after her. Good memories!
