How to take Spends?
Advice please anyone on how to take spends please. Used to love TC and used travelex currency card in 2015 but had major problems.
Have got OH credit card for emergencies but would like another way other than cash and his card to take rest of our money. Don't really want or have time to apply for credit card so any other ideas gratefully received xx Thanks all |

Why not still use T/C they are still used and if you take a few hundred in cash just in case you come across somewhere that doesn't take them .We will still use them when we go back in 2018 unless they just stop using them full stop.

I take cash and an emergency credit card, we also used credit card to pay for laundry at Disney which cost £20 on statement but we used them quite a bit!
We don't take loads of spends, about $2000 for 4 of us. If I was taking more I may consider a cash card. |

We will take around $500 cash, then the rest will be on our credit cards, we will each take 2. Our post office CC will be our first option (which I applied for and was using in about 10 days, just incase you change your mind).
I'm not a fan of cash cards or carrying around a lot of cash. But we are also staying onsite once in Disney, so will charge everything to the room using our magic bands).

We usually take around £500 of cabs and then put the rest on the Post Office credit card as it offers a great exchange rate. Pay it off when we get home. Hope to get a clarity one for this year too, tried last year but had only just closed my Halifax normal one so dint quality .

used to take cash and rest on a prepaid currency card. with credit card for back up.
this time will be cash, credit cards and aiming ( unless I hear bad things ) Travelex supercard. you link up to 5 cards to it then you avoid paying the purchasing overseas charges and get a better rate. however im still waiting for it 2 months later so I am starting to wonder if I need to look elsewhere.

I was considering for the 1st time to take a currency card. However it seems some of you who have used currency cards in the past are no longer doing so, why is this? We don't go until August and I was hoping to top up a card little and often to try and manage exchange rate fluctuations in small bite size parts instead of taking the plunge with one big cash transaction before we go

What are the charges for using a credit card there? I thought it would be quite steep!?
