Apparently not!

I really don't see what the difference is from an insurance perspective between paying cash to a private individual and paying cash to Disney to rent the same room.

Also, not the same situation I know, but when we were stranded by Hurricane Matthew I used DVC points to extend my stay and our insurance company paid out the cash value.

We have rented through David’s but the owner is not responding to any requests to try to re rent if possible. Will try insurance if possible if no chance of re renting. Flights cancelled by Virgin

Points are not covered but accommodation is. Just need to make sure your invoice shows accommodation purchased rather than points.

A few years ago when I was renting points I called my insurer (it was with the RBS bank account) and told them I was renting a timeshare and they said I was covered.

We only tend to rent points for a few nights as we fly in and out of MCO, stay at WDW for a night or two and then go down to the Gulf Coast, I've used Dibbers and I've used David's, I don't think I'd use David's again given all the bad reports .

Hey, who did you use for insurance? This is my issue at the min really want to rent points for next September. Hoping things will be back to normal by then but it’s more on the side if any medical issues came up
