Booking in chunks, am I over thinking this?

We're 'hoping' to go out October '21 for a couple of weeks and would like the trip to come out of of 2020 UY banked points so that they're used up first, saving '21's points for our big trip in Jan '22, then we're back to a clean slate for 22 UY.

I have 5 contracts in total so guess I need to book the trip in chunks a few nights at a time then link them up with MS once it's all booked (or at 7 months if we change anything).

Is there an easier way to do this? I'm worrying now that we'll end up with a gap because of losing out on booking a run in 1 go.

This just isn't how I've ever used my points so I think I'm over thinking it all.

I think you can book as one and then call MS to have them jiggle the points about. I’d be interested to know best solution.

There should be an option ; ‘Use banked points from all contracts first’

There really should be that option!

I didn't think about asking them to jiggle the points around, I may call them prior to the 11 month window and find out if they'll do it.

You can choose which contract the points come from and banked points are automatically used first from each contract.

That’s what happened when I made two bookings the other week. Although all my banked points were in just one contract, I had the choice of all four contracts. If that makes sense.

Hey Caron

Yep the 2 weeks will need to use the banked points across 4 or 5 contracts, there are roughly 100 banked points in each, if we go for a 1 bed, that's only a few nights from each contract, I don't want it to take the non banked points along with the banked.

I think my best bet will just be to book a few nights at a time, unless MS agree to move them around retrospectively.

Jo, I think you specify how many points from each contract you want to use. Have a play around with the site beforehand to see what you can do, without committing.

Can you? I thought you just specified the contract order & it depleted each one in turn.

I need to have a play!

I’ve always just used all my points, it’s never been an issue which UY they came from before!

PoohBear I think I have an answer. I’m in the same boat for my Poly booking.

Apparently it was reported that if you select multiple contracts the confirmation of where the points are coming from before you confirm says it’s coming off the first contract you selected, but then it actually takes all the banked points first even though it never says this. It’s only when you check the points left you can see it has done it.

I’ll try in the next few days.
