New 3D baggage scanners being forced onto UK airports

Hallelujah.

Government has just said that all UK airports MUST install 3D baggage scanners within 3 years.

This means no taking out laptops etc, no clear bags for liquids and a better level of security.

Should speed up the grindingly slow security queues no end.

Some airports are moaning about cost, hard luck, cost of doing business.

Great news!
But the costs will ultimately be passed on to us as customers. The money has to come form somewhere.

Yes, through Schiphol on Friday and can confirm nothing needed to be taken out of bags... something I found only after having taken the usual stuff out! Will take some for everyone to adjust but can only be a good thing.

Also no more worrying about the 100ml fluid restriction.

Chap on the radio this morning said it'll be like going back to the 1980s. All in all great news.
