We had our first two last night. Both were cupped in hands and dropped outside via the window.
I did a special study of Crane flies at O level and have had an affinity to them ever since. They are harmless so I see no reason to harm them. All part of the circle of life.

Anyone notice how our "summer" has been ideal for spiders. We have had dozens of them.

Obvious that some of you haven't picked up the message of "Its tough to be a bug".

Had a small crane fly yesterday. When I was a kid they were huge, not just because I was small they really were huge with long dangly legs. They are very small nowadays.

Last year our grass was devastated by their grubs. They laid their eggs in the soil and the result was that we had no grass left - not an exaggeration at all. Hubby used to use a chemical killer which has now been banned and nematodes didn't really do anything.

It's tough to be a human with giant spiders running amok!

Had a few spiders but no daddy long legs yet. Hate spiders but I can ignore daddy long legs, except when they buzz round the light bulbs as its noisy

Spiders are a whole different story, normally I leave them in the living room and go to bed
