Leaving Virgin Broadband. How to do it?

So child number 2 is back from uni early due to the virus. He is the named person from the flat on the virgin broadband contract. He needs to cancel it, knowing there may be an early repayment charge. However the only way to do that is to phone them and there is no way of them actually answering the thing. The phone cuts off after about 45 minutes and they still have not answered. There is no email I can find to contact them or online messaging.

Anyone have another way?

Has he got a ‘my account’ with virgin media it might be an option through that, if he hasn’t he could set up a new account to manage it.
Although saying that I’m having problems getting into my account today

He does but there is no way of contacting them through it if you want to leave.

can you get virgin at your current home address?

one way of getting out of it is saying you(he) is moving to an address that cant be serviced, you may need to know someone at the property hence the question about your house,

he gives his 30 days notice and all the equipment is then sent back.

No I can’t get it. Also can’t get back to the property so the equipment is still there

tell him to ring up and say he's moving to your address (no lies there) you may get asked for the equipment but to be fair they sent me the packaging stuff out and its all wrapped up and ready to post in my shed, its been there since august last year.

he will need to give 30 days notice though, give your postcode and number and you're done, they send the equipment packaging to the new address so that people cant just say it and get out of the contract, so I have been told…… haha

It said waits up to an hour when I called then just randomly cut me off after 45 mins.

Problem with virgin, sky et al is that you can do all sorts of adding to your package online and it takes minutes. Obviously when you want to remove things you have to go through hoops on the phone while they attempt to talk you out of it.

All I want to do is go to a lower TV package but looks like I’ll have to wait weeks to do it
