NAILED IT!

Sometimes things go horribly wrong... Too much yeast (only 3.5g though!) and I left them out too long, they puffed up massively, plus the whipped cream in the base sogged out the base and tore it

(and the calzone)

Re-balled the rest and tried again an hour later. This time I didn't stretch it out nearly enough but par-cooking the bases so I could apply the base with a spatula

The first two (and the burned calzone)were Philly cheesesteak with cubed leftover beef, red onion and jalapeño, then tandoori chicken and pepperoni. Nice!

and the pepperoni one was (deliberately) a little undercooked, so that if we didnt eat it (we didnt) i could freeze it, so its now wrapped in clingfilm and put away for another night

Hi ooni owners!

After much deliberation we are buying a koda 12. Has anyone found a dupe of the carry cover? Don't really fancy forking out 40 quid for one!

Looks yummy! I also fail to make round pizzas, but I think it adds to the charm!

I have received a 20% discount code from Lakeland and thought I’d treat us to a pizza oven for our joint birthdays !
This might be a dumb question but on the multi fuel Karu does the funnel come off easily for transit ? The wood pellet one isn’t in stock. We want to be able to take it away with us so needs to pack away in the car easily.

Also, do I need anything else to go with it ? Is the paddle thing essential or are there cheaper ones out there somewhere ? I notice you can’t use pellets on this model so can I use any wood/ charcoal ? Are there any another attachments I need for the gas ( we have patio gas bottles)
Thanks so much for any help, I know there are now a lot of pizza experts on here !

With the karu you do need a gas attachment and it's usually out of stock!

Personally I'm really glad we went for the gas only koda. Its really neat and portable

We bought an off brand metal paddle which works fine and the ooni wooden one as couldn't find an off brand that looked as nice

Tip-ikea do big pizza plates that are 1.50 each!

Thank you. It’s typical that the separate ones are out of stock ! As you say the gas attachment is also out of stock. I want it for my holiday in July so I will order the dual fuel. If we need the gas attachment I will have to keep a look out for them coming back in. It’s a lot of money so I do hope it’s worth it and I can get the hang of it !

I'd say it's worth the cost! With the ooni, accessories and gas we've spent about £400 and I'm happy with that.

It does take a little practice, if you are struggling with shaping the dough try a cold proved dough, we find it way easier to work with!

I have ordered the oven, carry case and paddles. With the discount just over £300. I’ll be back on this thread when it has arrived ! I might not post my first attempts though
