I was in the submarine service..

Also the person I know who was on one yesterday says exactly the same, it's nothing like the real thing.

But we shouldn't let the obvious faults with the set design spoil the storyline. You can see they didn't get any subject matter experts in to help with the design as none are mentioned in the credits.

Its not a real sub, its a set. The shots of it underwater are all CGI. Also the fin does not look like that from above.

Having spent two years at Barrow during the build and six years at Faslane whilst the current Vanguard class were operational agree with everything bighal has said.

Also the previous Resolution class are all laid up down the road from me in Rosyth so the boats in Devonport would have been the smaller SSN's, unless of course one of the Tridents is in refit.

Spent many a happy hour crawling round all these boats from the mid 70's onward.

Sorry I meant in the actual program did someone say that it wasn't part of the navy or have I dreamt it ?

Oh sorry I didnt hear that (but there was an oblique reference to command and control which wasnt quite correct but they may have been for effect of the Lt Cdr speaking to a police officer rather than an editorial mistake)
