Business Class BA Heathrow
We are flying to NYC next month in business class 😱 got a ludicrous deal and so hopefully ticking it of my 40 before 40 list!
I’ve booked seats in middle so I can hopefully chat to my mum - can anyone confirm will we be able to interact ! ? |

Which plane are you booked to fly on? Does it have Club Suites or the old Club World? Will affect the answers.
The old CW seats, no problem. The new Club Suites are angled and look a bit more difficult as you'll be further away, but more a case of you'll just have to lean forward a little. In either case, there is a divider you can open between the seats if you want to be sociable. |

777 can have either cabin, depending which plane you've been allocated as they're mid-refurb on the LHR fleet. Club Suites will be in a 1-2-1 config, Club World will be 2-4-2.

Equipment change is always possible, but 777s assigned on the JFK route are usually with Club Suites.
It is possible to interact between the centre seats in Club Suites. Whether or not you need to lean/move would depend on how much either seat has been reclined, in upright position you can just look across. You can’t completely remove the divider as with the older seats, it slides forward around 30-40cm, but the gap is big enough. The seats are angled towards each other at the foot end, so you are further apart at the head end, but it’s not too far. Below is what the gap looks like (this is an A350, but should not be a big difference on 777). Edited at 11:25 PM. |

It’s more difficult but not impossible on the Club Suites. I’d say you’ll be able to chat and pass things between you when the seat is full upright, but not reach bits of each other’s seats (I ended up sitting across the aisle from my son so that I could actually reach him if needed).
Here is my daughter and MIL (I didn’t ask her permission for this photo, hence the covered face 😂 ) on the 777 this summer so you can see the distance. I took this standing in the aisle. Their seats were fully upright.

Getting Excited
|
Hi, I believe all the regular aircraft for the New York- London service with BA are club suite configured, I had to ring for advice and a lovely lady with the assistance team said they were. We have 1 window and the 2 centre seats booked for our trip in March.
