That’s how our eldest was, woke hourly (or two hours if we were lucky) then woke 4-5am ready to play. We found we benefitted by taking him to bed an hour later so 8 instead of 7, then he was more likely to sleep to 5-6am which was slightly better and eventually meant he’d sleep until 7.

I’d be clinging to this ‘if he does nap during the day he sleeps better at night comment’ and putting my energy into encouraging napping if there’s a chance it helps overnight.
My eldest hated naps. Hated them but she would nap in the pushchair if it was moving. The amount of walking we did after lunch was insane but she napped and while her overnight sleeping wasn’t an issue I suspect it would have been had I not forced naps upon her.
