Love me some Patrick Swayze. Have you seen "North and South" yet?

This scene ^^^ made quite the impression on my then (12?) year old mind...

Gone too soon.

R.I.P.
Re North & South. The theme tune to that show was the music we chose to have playing as we exited our wedding ceremony. True story.

OUTSTANDING.

My then 8 year old brother played it at his first piano recital. It's such an evocative piece - and fits the story of N&S PERFECTLY. Bill Conti is a genius (the theme song for "American Gladiators" notwithstanding).

Oh, I walked up the aisle to American Gladiators.

Helen, on my life I thought you were referring to this:

Sorry to eavesdrop...but I just couldn't help myself - I had to push "Play".

And...you know I love cheezy pop music...but that one MIGHT be a bridge too far...even for me.

I remember the TV series that went with this, it was on CBBC and was set in a leisure centre where they all worked. A bit like Miami 7 but less glamourous!
A friend of mine took rather a shine to the one with the green hair.

I must admit it was my first thought when Helen mentioned North & South too

Wonderful time in NY. I have just booked a 5 night trip with my 10 year old and his request is also the Statue of Liberty. Im struggling to find out how far ahead Crown tickets are released( currently available for all of Aug- do they release a whole month at a time?!) any hints for dates would be amazing! Thanks and as always really enjoy your and Poots travel adventures😊

I've no idea about the ticket release, sorry. I *think* someone had put up an "SOL Crown Tickets" post in the General Trip Planning thread when the month we needed came up for booking - and I went straight to the site and grabbed the tix. Had it not, I probably would have just added "Check for SOL tickets" to my "do every morning" tasks.

Thanks for stopping by.

How have I only just found this glorious trip report?! Shame on me!

I've just read the entire thing in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it. But very sad to read that you won't be doing any more!

I just thought I'd add my pirate name to the pile...
