Closest Hotel to Magic Kingdom and how far to walk?

We adore Magic Kingdom, but for our last 2 trips the monorail/ferry back to the ticket and transportation centre has been so busy and takes so long, my anxiety can’t take it!
So next time we’re thinking of walking to the closest Disney hotel and then getting an Uber from there but not sure which is closest and how long it would actually take to walk. Tia

The Contemporary is the only one you can walk to, it’s about 10-15 mins max walk from the entrance of Magic Kingdom.

You can't get an Uber to the Magic Kingdom park, they are only allowed to take you to the ticket and transportation center. You could. however, get one to The Contemporary and walk from there.

Are Uber’s allowed in the Contemporary? Had a quick look online and some people say it’s not guaranteed the Uber driver will be allowed in. Is that only if you’re being dropped off, or is that if you’re waiting for an Uber to leave too? Happy to get a monorail or ferry in, just hate leaving the park with them x

Take the bus to the ticket and transport or the friendship boat to the poly then walk to the ttc for something different .

the Contemporary is no different from any other hotel onsite or in Orlando, in that anyone can book an Uber from their public areas (ie outside reception is best for booking taxis/Uber/Lyft). There will be no problem with Uber getting to you at the Contemporary, they will simply tell the security staff at the entrance of the resort that they are picking up there and they'll be let through to pick you up.

You could take the Friendship boat to WL & Uber from there

Can always use Disney Transportation to Contemporary and then walk - we've done that a few times.

Although, best ever was staying at Grand Floridian and jumping on the monorail...

I agree the journey to and from the park is a pain - probably why the hotels nearby are sooooo expensive!

Never had a problem getting an Uber to Contemporary & walking to MK.

Likewise for the other way round when leaving the park.

I've taken an Uber to the Contemporary a couple of times. One time the security guard gave the Uber driver a lot of grief getting in but eventually let us through. Another time we got in with no issues.

Just say that you're visiting the Contemporary and they shouldn't have an issue with letting the Uber drop you off there.
