Wow, sounds amazing and how wonderful to see family again.

We’d love to visit again taking the family, after I snuck on to DH’s school trip there about 14 years ago. All above board- he’s a teacher and one of the staff going broke her ankle on the morning they left so I filled in for her. Best experience ever (not for her though )

It's funny DD has started going out with a guy from South Africa and it didn't take long for her to guess why I was over the moon She said, I take it it's somewhere you want to visit when my over enthusiastic response was given to the news

Getting more excited, especially after reading and seeing the Dibb reports for South Africa

My wonderful family in SA are organizing all the itinerary, which is such a relief. 14 of us going to Kruger for a 3 night stay, and then 19 (+2 children) going to Cape Town for a 4 night stay.
The rest of the time is spent chillaxing with the family, a few picnics and BBQ's are planned ... feel truly blessed to have such wonderful family who I am longing to HUG

Desperate for a Dibb Hug ... realistically it doesnt look good for our much awaited trip on the 24th Dec.

I totally understand and agree with the flight restrictions, but thats my head speaking, my heart is completely broken.

I need, and want so desperately, to see my family, they too are all heartbroken and we have had some tearful conversations over the weekend. Its just so unfair.

Not a rant, and not a vent ... just feel so down. I know we can reschedule (and most probably will) but right now it just feels horrible.

Hugs Creamcake My DD boyfriend is in exactly the same position. All of his family here were due to fly out on the 6th to be with extended family over Christmas. Due to work commitments, there Mum flew out last week and they are stuck here. They are all really upset, especially their Mum, who would not have gone. It's truly awful. Hugs to you x

Would it be possible to meet up in another country? Not ideal but could be a solution for you.

I don't think that would be an option at the moment, as South Africa is closed to quite a lot of countries, and the cost involved for all would not be feasible also .. if possible we may move to Summer or then next December.

I’m so sorry , holidays can’ be rebooked but when it’s to visit family it’s absolutely gutting. My SIL and niece fly from Abu Dhabi to Turkey this week , she’s not seen her Mum in three years and my niece her grandma in two. They were booked for October half term but had to cancel as the rules changed and my niece would have had to self isolate on arrival for ten days.
As you say head knows it’s right but heart just hurts. Sending the biggest hug.
