If you've got a couple of hours to spare, I would thoroughly recommend this deep dive into the history of FastPass, the maths behind it, its development into FP+ and now into the Genie system. Really interesting.

I loved the genie, genie plus, lightening, virtual queue, standby that was explained at great speed and made it sound equally as confusing as I feel about it so far!
Luckily I have a year to get my head around it slowly at my own pace!
Or maybe we will stay at the villa for the fortnight and just chill!

Had a watch of this the other day, very interesting, and it certainly makes genie+ seem not as bad of an idea once you have this context. They basically had to do something because fastpass+ was only working for very few people, and making money for it at the same, time, which also reduces demand on the system. Perhaps if Disney explained this a little more then maybe people wouldn't be so angry about it. I guess Disney don't want to publicly state the fastpass+ was broken.

very interesting watch, will see if genie and genie+ make a difference to the standby lines. the sample park was just amazing to watch and see the figures it came up with

Agree, I was thinking we were friends of the monster and managed a lot more rides than the what I like to call "muggles" . But I was a muggle once and then started reading up. Thanks to the dibb and you lovely people
