I can’t see it now. It’s an additional £500 over 15 nights and with us having $300 of gift cards, plus opting out of housekeeping we’ll have $440. That’ll pay for a few meals and the truth is we just don’t have £500 to spare without eating into our spends. Besides I really do want to see how we’ll get on with QSDP. There are so many new places that we haven’t got round to trying yet.

Some day we’ll splurge on DxDDP though!

Edited to add, I bought a Euromillions for tonight so if I win £83 million I might upgrade .

Well now I’m torn. The Star Wars Dessert Party dates have now been extended having originally stopped at the 24th August. We enjoyed it last time but we had a better budget that year! It’s $79 each and as I don’t drink I don’t get the same value as Marie does 😜. Decisions decisions!

Book it, book it!
I would force Marie to drink your share too...
Ok my sensible head would say you have already done it so unless it was really worth it I wouldn’t do it again...
No real help with any decisions!

Last time was during Irma and I don’t think it was really required as the parks were so quiet. I feel like this time they’ll be really busy so maybe more worth it.

I think that if you want a decent view of the fireworks without having to stake out a spot earlier than ever before you should book it.

My view is that anything spent before the actual trip can be written off a a non-holiday expense

True. And I’ve just checked my payslip and this months wage is slightly higher than I expected . Wouldn’t want that to go to waste!

It sounds like your plans are coming along really well, I can't believe it's less than three weeks until you fly.

For my twopenneth I think I'd book the dessert party. We've never done one as I sort of resent paying for extra food with the DDP as that's always way too much and so the idea of paying for extra doesn't appeal. Plus, like you, the kids wouldn't get the benefit of the alcohol, so that seems a waste of money.

But as you're sticking with the QSDP this trip I think the evening will be a whole lot nicer with the dessert party. The unknown crowd levels would worry me. I really enjoyed the Star Wars fireworks this trip, I felt like it had been updated since last year, but perhaps I'm just not remembering it very well. The projections were great and there were three different projections going on at the same time, with one on the left, one in the middle and one on the right of the Chinese Theatre. So, I really feel the show is worth seeing and if the dessert party viewing area gives a good view of the theatre you're on to a winner.

I’ve gone ahead and booked it . It’s on my birthday so I can pretend it’s for that.

Can’t believe you’re back already! I can see that you had a great trip so no need to ask .

Aw I'm glad you booked!

When I noticed dates were available yesterday I have to admit I was tempted as it's the first time we've been to HS and the timings for Star Wars and Fantasmic! haven't clashed.
