Just back ... Port Orleans Riverside Highs and Lows
Back home today from Two brilliant weeks in POR ... Highs -Riverside ... First time here and so glad we chose this magical place it's true what everyone says about it being peaceful it is a beautiful resort if anyone as never been there before .- we stayed in the mansion buildings Acadian house newly renovated not too far from main action truly lovely surroundings.Bus Stops - seen a lot of people mention preference for certain bus stops in all honesty we didn't find any problems we were at North Depot and most of the time used South Depot anyway ...Disney parks as normal were fantastic even when the hurricane was threatening the parks stayed open till 2pm with Epcot even staying open till 7pm ... Epcot - Food and wine festival we enjoyed this so much as we have never been here while it's been on really good why of using our snack credits 😜... Lyft- used this to visit outlets and they were brilliant wait was minutes even on a Saturday night and used a voucher code which was $5 off the first 4or 5 rides 👏👏 Disney Dining Plan - really enjoyed the odd alcoholic drink with meal and once again it defeated us and come back with mints galore and Ghiradelli 👍Weather- even with the hurricane the weather was really nice and the last 5 days were incredibly hot ... Lows- only one to report was the fact that we had to come home also on the subject of opting out of Mousekeeping (not trying to add to the right or wrongs of people choosing) but we chose to opt out and I've got to say for us it was the right decision anything you needed was one quick call away or if you seen the maid no problem they also check on you to see if you need anything so just if there is anyone who is worrying about doing this don't worry it is absolutely fine ,now I know it's not for everyone but it worked for us ... All in all it was the best two weeks we have ever had in Orlando ... Right were do we sign up for the next one

Sounds like you had a lovely time.
We are currently in POR staying at Magnolia Bend and absolutely loving it. The food is defeating us too it’s our last day here tomorrow before we go on the Dream for 3 nights and we still have 8 meals and 10 snacks between 2 of us plus we have a dessert party booked for tomorrow night. We would definitely stay here again |

Also staying at POR for first time next September though suspect we might be in Alligator Bayou as we have requested 5th sleeper with garden view. Glad you loved the resort 😁.

We stayed there April and loved how pretty and peaceful it was too
We also opted out of mousekeeping and we managed to get towels changed when needed etc

Glad you had a good time! We've stayed twice at POR, both times in Magnolia Terrace and we love it there. It's such a gorgeous resort and we love the boat trip to Disney Springs. We also had a positive experience with opting out of mousekeeping.

So glad to read this! We are staying at POR for the first time next July, previously always stayed in SSR. I’m planning on requesting Arcadian House, Mansion buildings as I love the look of the theming. What did you think of food option at the resort for breakfast? Great highs and lows.
