I have a very light waterproof day pack , it's not heavy with those in it and we never need anything else .
I've never ever needed to rent a locker at Disney .
I have fairly complex dietary needs so will be taking snacks in with me as im too tight to pay $5 for a banana ≈≈≈≈.

What i really meant was swimming stuff.
We often "pop" to TL for an hour just to float around in the afternoon to break up the day.
So towels/mugs/cosmetics etc.
Im not carting that lmao...

Ah ... I go make up free in the parks ... it tends to melt off anyway ... it might be worth checking the cost of towel hire at TL and see if it's less than locker hire though !

My daughter and boyfriend used Uber recently and it worked out roughly the same as car hire but they only went Disney twice, but used it for eating out and some shopping, I think the real benefit of car hire is if you plan to do a lot of travelling to the parks, restaurants and maybe a day at the coast then a car wins

Personal choice for which suits your group so no right or wrong way.
Me a car all the way so if costs me an extra 100 quid do I give a stuff on a 5k holiday.
When I visit shared holiday home in canaries I hire a car 30 quids more than a taxi each way but sod the bus to get shopping or a taxi .
Each to own just pick whats best and enjoy.

We are getting the (tiny) car

Convenience for a few quid as you say is important...
