Dublin Airport
Hi, I have found lots of threads discussing travelling through Dublin on the way to MCO but can't find any info for travelling on the way back. I am looking at Aer Lingus flights from MCO to Dublin and then onto Aberdeen however there is a 5 hours layover in Dublin.
Has anyone else had a long layover there? Is there a lounge you can use or is it possible to leave the airport and get a day room at the hotel close to the airport, or do you have to stay airside? Thanks! |

We killed 4 hours on the most uncomfortable seating I have ever had the misfortune to sit on. Also on no sleep following the usual night flight. Never again.
We are flying back business class for the lie down beds and luckily for us this time the layover is much shorter (Dub-Man) and because of the business class element we can use the lounge. My advice, either use a lounge for access to food and comfortable seating. Or go to a hotel. We are worriers though so would always worry we would miss our flight due to traffic. We were on separate tickets so the Man-Dub return was separate, we just collected our cases and then checked them straight back in.

There are hotels inside the airport complex you could go to for nice seats but Dublin airport has lots of nice shops and s few bars restaurants wouldn’t be bad to kill time in

We fly Either LHR-DUB-MCO or BHX-DUB-MCO and Valkyrie.
There is a nice lounge DAA executive lounge, with showers and snacks, drinks available, nice place to wait

This is the first class lounge. It's really nice. There are lovely showers there. The food and bar is included.
