For one night I’d go on price. RPR is not much further than US to HRH. Completely different feels to the hotels but both great. We usually book the cheapest.

For one night I’d go on price as well. We did one night at Portofino Bay last year for a treat (have previously done 5 nights Club Level at HRH). We were upgraded to a Minions Kidsuite. Rooms amazing. Resort amazing. Basically slept there though as it was just the one night.

I have stayed in both. If the prices were equal, I would opt for RPR... But they are not and that would make things easy for me... with a club upgrade, of course. The benefits are considerable when in our case, we are not picking up our hire car until after our second day in the Universal parks in order to move on to our Villa. (Ramada on IDrive with breakfast at £60;for the 4 of us on arrival at 1800, then RPR as soon as breakfast demolished the next day).
We have more or less written off the cost of RPR by spending the 1st night at Ramada having UBERED from MCO and then UBER to RPR. We then have no car hire, parking fees etc to consider until the end of our second full day in Orlando, when we pick up our car from the nearby Holiday Inn. £35 UBER, £60 Ramada and breakfast, £10 UBER, £370 RPR with club access, £60 saved on car hire plus fuel, $70 on RPR car parking and all food covered. That is a net spend for our first 2 nights and 2 days of £360 (ish) including all food other than a Golden Coral on first night. £180 including unlimited express pass, food etc etc for 2 nights is pretty good when you consider that the alternative was an extra 2 nights in our lovely Villa @ £90 a night and no Express passes! Lateral thinking can pay dividends.

I would much rather stay at RPR than HRH. But for one night, I don't think it really matters that much. I would be looking to maximise my time at the parks. I wouldn't bother with club either. We could have done either club or get a suite for same price at RPR this year, we decided to get a suite as we didn't want to be spending our afternoons or evenings in the lounge.
