Where would you eat without DDP?

We have 10 days of DDP, then 4 days without. (We’re planning to stock up on snacks with any spare credits on our last day of DDP.)

Is there anywhere you’d recommend waiting to eat without the DDP? e.g. anywhere not covered by the DDP / anywhere that’s not the best value on the DDP?

We won’t have a car, so we’d prefer to stay around the hotels / parks, but could always figure out how to use an Uber to go elsewhere if it would be worth it. Will also be looking for places to eat while at Universal, as I think we’ve decided against a club level room there.

Has to be offsite for me, as its far better value. Sweet Tomatoes is excellent value and welcome relief from the standard food, sign up to their email and get a 25% off voucher. Cheesecake Factory would be harder to get to but amazing!
Fords Garage at Vineland Outlets was excellent

I agree definitely offsite. We had the DDP last year and got a bit bored because it felt like a lot of the same food and service.

Theres so much choice but I would suggest Cowfish at Universal City Walk, Longhorns on IDrive and Cheesecake Factory at Mall of Millenia.

Edited to add - I would pay out of pocket for Trails End at Wilderness Lodge. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here ad it was so cheap compared to other Disney restaurants.

Offsite for us too. Sweet Tomatoes, Millers, Cracker Barrel, Seasons 52, Cowfish, Celebration Town Tavern.
All good places and much better value then onsite.

We are onsite only people but we don’t use our credits for:
Signatures (normally bad value as very rarely double a TS meal, Be our guest dinner at $55 is a good example)
Beaches and cream (cheap and we normally just share a sundae)
The Plaza (cheap)
Trails end breakfast/the Wave breakfast/Ale and compass breakfast as cheap
Sanaa (just have bread service and starter)
When I say cheap for the above... still a lot more expensive than offsite! But as I say we are onsite people trying to try all the onsite restaurants!

I agree with all of this, and I'd add Sci-Fi too.

The resort TS restaurants are usually pretty reasonably priced and it's are fun to visit. Lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe is a favourite of ours.

Be our guest dinner if you want to do it.
Nine dragons in Epcot - large portions we shared 3 mains between 4.
Spice road table in Epcot - small plates are really good and not available on the dining plan.
It won’t be that bad as your dining credits will still be valid on your checkout day. Pick up pastries with snack credits for your breakfast the next day and your mugs will still work.

On site locations we will pay for out of pocket:

Sana’a (we really like this restaurant)
The Plaza - not much more expensive than a quick serve and I love the desserts
Earl of Sandwich (QS) as the prices are quite low and we really like the sandwiches
