DSLR photographers - lens advice please

We'd like to get our daughter a new lens for her DSLR camera as a gift for doing so well in her GCSEs. She'll be starting college in September doing level 3 photography, so it's something that would help with that too. She's got a Canon EOS 100D and has an 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens already.

Really after recommendations on what lens to get to expand on what she already has please

Maybe a macro lens? You could also consider a really good flash gun or a filter kit, but really probably better to ask her, she'll have a much better idea, I know it might ruin the 'surprise' element, but might suit her better

Edit: and congrats

Probably best to ask your daughter.
Maybe she could benefit from a faster standard lens eg 50mm f1.8 or f1.4.
Maybe a 500mm or longer for motorsport etc ?
Otherwise she has it covered tbh.

She likes doing portrait, street and wildlife photography if that helps?

Thinking of a good prime 50mm:
amazon/gp/aw/d/B00...KL5A1OLE&psc=1
And possibly some extension tubes?

I started with
a 18-55
Then added
b canon 55-250mm
Then a canon 50mm f1.8
Then replaced a with
c sigma dc 18-200
Then replaced b with
Sigma EX 70-200 f2.8
Then replaced c with
Sigma contemporary 17-70 f2.8

Now I want an L series 300mm f2.8 ☺

Just an idea of how my lens purchasing has progressed. Guess it really boils down to what sort if photography she enjoys

Wow, that's quite a lens journey you've been on there!

I often wish I'd bought a 40mm instead of 50mm as with the crop factor I find it quite limiting. Something wider angle for street / portraits is worth considering

Yup and an expensive one. 🤣
I like sports photography and the 70-200 is great.
For wildlife something longer range woukd be better but that's the total opposite to her "street" needs

For portrait or street photography I use a fast prime lens, I have the Sigma 35mm 1.4 that I love, not a lover of flash useage in photography much prefer natural light.
For wildlife a fast long prime, 400mm upwards. As she's already got a lens upto 300mm anything longer will be ££££'s.
How about a wide angle lens canon 10-18 gets good reviews?
