Back in the mix

Hi All

I was a member of this community back in the early 2000's when I was touring Florida with my friends... so long ago that I think my account was revoked! Spent many a day trawling through the threads!

Now planning a 2020 trip with my family and hoping to enjoy the build up as much as the actual holiday.

My Orlando history is :-

1999 - International Drive w/friends
2001 - International Drive w/friends
2003 - International Drive w/friends
2012 - Villa in Davenport with wife and daughter

2020 - Villa in Champions Gate with wife, daughter, mother, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, niece and brother-in-laws mother! (big change)

Back in the day, we route marched and were systematic in our approach to get everything done and back in 2012, my daughter was only four so we took it extremely casually.

Next year is going to be a mix of the two but I have the feeling I'm going to be shocked by how busy the parks are.

Is it really as bad as statistics make out? We're going in August after the US school holidays have ended so maybe it won't be quite as bad as I'm imagining. Can anyone who has been regularly visiting for the last 20 years make a comparison between then and now?

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome back! We first went to Florida in 1996, again in 1998, 2006, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2017 and are looking forward to going again this July. The roads, restaurants, malls and most importantly the parks are all much busier especially in the last 5 years. But we certainly haven’t let it spoil our holidays. We aren’t doing Disney this time, just Seaworld and Busch Gardens so hoping they won’t be as crazy busy as the rest. You’ll notice big changes in the parks, lots of new rides! Disney Springs has also undergone major changes. Happy planning.
