We've just got back from our 1st May trip - all previous trips were in September. We thought May was possibly a bit less humid than September and not quite as hot - I even needed a jumper a couple of evenings after wet afternoons! As a previous poster said, there were 3 large storms, with rain for 2-3 hours but the rest of the time it was mainly dry.
We also thought it was slightly busier than september, but then every time we go it seems busier than the previous trip! Looking to go back next year at the end of April as we upgraded our tickets to annual passes :-) Currently Virgin prices are shocking, so we're thinking of trying BA as they seem quite reasonable.

May is my favourite time to visit! Also been September/October I found the weather much the same without the hurricane risk... but I prefer the earlier sunrise in May it does make the early morning a bit warmer. It's certainly not humid in May but there is still a good chance of an afternoon downpour, we've been in may and seen no rain at all for 2 weeks or the opposite being last may which was particularly soggy, it's usually somewhere in between maybe average expect 4 rainy afternoons/evenings over 2 weeks. As far as crowds go it's certainly not 'quiet' but up until memorial weekend the crowds are pretty moderate and manageable (I would not recommend being there for memorial Day weekend it's crazy busy). The flower and garden festival in Epcot is lovely I prefer it to food and wine, still has a lot of food booths and is very pretty but I would avoid it at the weekends and evening emh as it can get crowded on those nights, we were Disney guests and did not benefit from emh as the waits were still long. In all I probably found the crowds quieter in September/October but not so much that it put me off going in May, main reason being we endured hurricane Mathew on our last autumn trip 😂
