To add we were completely carhire free in Orlando last trip (Disney free trip but same principle)until our last day when we picked up a hire car as after Orlando we were going to Tampa and Vero and planned Mount Dora for our last day. This was last month
A few months ago although we had a villa near Four Corners as we had the kids and grandkids along not everyone wanted to do everything together so if someone wanted to head back early or do something different Lyft was a good way to do it too. OH has just braced himself and looked at the credit card bill all the Lyfts were on last month and is a happy chappy as it was a big saving on car hire for that period (I told him it would be but he wasn't convinced ) |

Ty for doing that.
After including the supp insurance (which i forgot about) for the CWD and inc. The cost of a locker (as we cant leave stuff in boot and im not carrying it all day lol as well as going on 15$ (allowing for surge pricing ie extra 50%) the difference is only about 8$ a day. I think for that id rather have the convenience of the car... Thank you everyone for chipping in was an interesting discussion We only have a tiny car so cost is cheap. Im sure if we d have gone bigger (which we would have if kids were coming or even first trip) it would be a v different story... |

What "stuff" do you need ?
Phone and credit card , sunscreen , bottle of water should all be with you ... what else do you need ? I have a very light waterproof day pack , it's not heavy with those in it and we never need anything else . I've never ever needed to rent a locker at Disney . |

Hmmm very big pinch of salt as the apps for Uber show you the price so you can see if surge is in operation ... and if it is you wait ten minutes and look again and the surge is gone.
Only time I've ever seen it surge is at park kicking out time ... a slow stroll out of the park and check again ... back to normal. It's not like customers can't decline a ride if surge is in operation. I'd imagine surge also pops up as storms start but that's hardly surprising but if the story came out this week I'd expect with more storms surge happened more often but surge is like Florida rain ... soon disappears again ! Or just use Lyft which never seems to have these issues reported . Edited at 03:06 PM. |
