We loved BMTR at DLP too - it seems most people prefer it to the WDW version. It's a shame it broke down, but of course that provides a chance for a nosey behind the scenes.

I love the Hyperspace Mountain photos where they cover the faces of the other riders - clever idea. Great character meets today too. Gaston sounds fun, and you're right, there are much more unusual characters there. Were there characters just wandering around as well as the official meets? There was when we were there but they got crowded very quickly and it could be hard to get their attention for an autograph.
We did do really well with the food today, it's so funny as Kate loved that breakfast of hot chocolate, croissant and bread. Lunch was great and as we both love Tex Max we ended up going back to the evening restaurant later.

We did quite a lot of crossing backwards and forwards in the park today. It was very busy from about 10.30, but we were pretty pleased to meet the characters and once again the weather was glorious. There weren't any roaming characters as you describe, we saw them walking to and from their meeting spot as they were going on a break but the weren't any that were just wandering. I guess they must have decided the mobbing of them wasn't worth it.

Big Thunder, Hyperspace and it's a small world were all brilliant rides. We did pretty well to watch the pirate and princess show too. The photo package wasn't cheap, I think it was around €100 and there aren't many rides that have photo's but I'm really pleased I bought it as I love the ride photos too.
