How much butter on your bread?

As my dibb family members know I like to discuss issues that are important to us all. My elderly mother puts so much butter on her bread that I'm surprised she's still around and she ignores my moans.

This is the amount of butter I put on my bread and anymore butter makes a sandwich/roll taste unpleasant.

So are you a thick or thin butter person?

P.S. I'm not trying to gve it large that I'm healthy because I do eat healthy in between a 4 packs of chunky kitkats

None at all. No butter needed. Toast, just jam or marmalade. Sandwich then Hellmans extra extra low calorie mayonaise (11 cals a teaspn) scraping.

Otherwise no butter.

Depends what type of bread and what the filling/topping is. Everything usually gets a thin layer but only if it's a dry filling and I'm not using any other condiments. If I'm going to use mayo for example, I use that in place of butter. If it's some form of spread (jam, nutella, etc) then I also skip the butter. Except for marmite.

But the one bread I will always use a thick layer of butter on is a warm baguette. Sometimes I don't even add anything else. Yum.

Just a smear of butter like yours MH.

It has been known for me to mistake butter on my husband's bread for slices of cheese. He is now strictly a no butter man because of health reasons. Hmmm. Wonder if there's a link there 🤔

When I'm being bad I love lashings of butter, but now I'm being good so none at all. If your tuna is in sunflower oil then drained, I wouldn't bother with any butter as you won't taste it anyway.Mayo is the thing I can't do without on a sandwich, my lunch most days is a wee mini baguette with salad, chicken and mayo, no butter, I don't have breakfast so it all balances out.

Not too much butter for me, three of my four kids won’t eat butter. Years ago we me and DH were courting (does anyone still say that)? His mum used to spread the butter on with a trowel 😂😂

That would not be enough for me. I indulge myself when it comes to butter.

We don’t eat butter but Sainsburys Olive spread and I like lots of it but don’t eat that much bread so it’s only now and again!
