Universal resorts car hire

In case we decide to hire a car whilst we stay on universal property are there rental companies available at any of the hotels
Or are you better getting an uber to an office off site to give you more choice of rental companies and a better deal

Also could rent a car at the airport and drop it off at the resort on arrival for same cost and ease as getting a transfer for us both.

There was an Avis desk at Cabana Bay when we stayed there last November. Can’t answer your other questions as we always collect/drop off at the airport.

Avis are located at the Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Royal Pacific Hotel. Budget are a short walk away from the HRH on Kirkman Road. Avis tend to be more expensive for pickup from Universal locations though.

Alamo would be a quick Uber to their Four Points by Sheraton Hotel at the top of idrive.

When visiting Orlando, we tend to go into MCO during the evening on an internal - taxi to an I Drive cheapie with breakfast - taxi to Royal Pacific very early to check in and collect Express pass - Night at Club level (Free drinks, snacks, refreshments) - further day in the parks - taxi to pick up hire car at the Holiday Inn during the evening and move on to Villa. In this way we have saved on Car hire days and also parking. We then only visit Universal after 1800 from that point onwards.. quieter and free parking!

We have picked up a car upon leaving the Universal resort on several occasions... from the nearby Holiday Inn on Kirkman. They have Avis and Budget (same company).

Top tip. Phone for a taxi to pick you up as when you do it through the Universal concierge, the price is far higher... $15 minimum ?

We prefer budget and although you do not have a line up of cars to choose from, the ones that I have received have been upgrades. Last year my Focus became a very nice Jeep.
