The same thing happened after 9/11. I guess they will reopen when they think they have enough guests they can persuade to stay onsite so it may be a considerable time before it opens again.

Our booking for next September is POFQ so I’m hoping it’s open by then.

If not, you might get a really amazing upgrade - that happened last time! I hope you do!

It would be fantastic but my parents decided after we booked that they were coming and I couldn’t get them POFQ as it was no longer on sale. If POFQ doesn’t open then we would potentially end up at different hotels.

It may all be moot anyway because if there’s no free dining or room discount we’ll probably stay elsewhere.

Theres a rumour that it will be the last resort to open due to the size and may not even open until the tail end of 2021

First indication might be when they start bringing the furloughed workers back, only half their workforce are back & i believe 8000 part timers have just been let go. The problem they have is, at what point do they begin to re-open,for example their recently released offer, I'm not interested in CBR or CSR & £5k for 10 nights at SSR so I'll keep my Universal booking, we would have considered POR/POFQ but they aren't going to open again until they can consistently fill the other Mods ... Disney's "rock & a hard place"

I choose hotels for the theming reardless of the grade and the only mod I'd stay at is POFQ, which I love. I don't like POR and the other mods don't appeal to me. Other people might be the same. I've read in a few places that the reason for the continued PO closures might be due to the theming, with it being fashionable to take offence at the Deep South at the moment. (Those aren't my words by the way, just what I've read).

I know where your'e coming from and def think there's some truth in that. It wouldn't surprise me if they decided not to re-open these resorts for a while, whilst they consider re-theming.

Seemingly (as I recall reading some time back) they are popular with the brits (and irish) but the american visitors were not so keen? Why not? I was surprised and couldn't understand why but now I get it.

Sad really
I didn't like POFQ but loved POR and am booked there for next summer, awaiting to know where they are going to put me!
