New resort recommendations please, always stay at Emerald Island!
Hi, we are looking for a community/resort recommendation please!
We've stayed on Emerald Island 5 times, we like the gated community, and south facing lake view properties <3 We'd like similar closeness to Disney (Formosa Gardens area?) Gated, with south facing lake views The villas at Emerald Island are too big, we are paying for 7 bedrooms, when this holiday we will only use 2. We don't use much else of the facilities, just nice knowing security are about. Just nice small villas, with pool & spas. We should have ventured out & gone looking for one, just always having too much fun! Many thanks |

High if there are only 2 of you do you really need a villa. Have a look at floridays ,world quest both very close to Disney with nice pools etc.. Have you considered staying onsite, perhaps okw close to Disney spring good transport to parks. We find main benifit after nice meal out no need to drive so we can enjoy a quiet glass of wine

How about Windsor Hills? I know they have condos/townhouses that would suit just the 2 of you but I think it's only the villas that have pools/spas with the townhouses just having a splash pool. Formosa Gardens Estate is lovely but again quite big villas! Does EI not have any villas smaller than 7 beds?

We always stay at Formosa Gardens Estates in 4 bedroom villas which are the smallest on that particular estate, there are only 2 of us but after more than 20 visits in villas there we love the space and privacy this estate provides

Thank you, I will research these other resorts.
There are 5of us, but we just use 2 rooms as the littlest sleeps either with us, or the other 2, they like sharing a room, and we encourage it on holiday as part of their family bonding! We would definately want our own pool, we had a townhouse once and did miss the pool aspect of our holiday. The lower road of Emerald Islamd is the South facing non-oberlooked/lake view properties, and 95% are 2storey 7/8bedroom houses 😩 Thanks for everyones help, we are planning on going mid-jan 2017 😇 |

There are a lot of new communities popping up along Westside Boulevard which is just around the corner and of course just further down is the like of Bahama Bay where you can rent a huge condo relatively cheaply with access to all the shared facilities.

Most of the new developments are lovely but have huge villas
They are building big now Townhouses have only splash pools if at all, and are often overlooked Sunset Lakes is nextdoor to EI and has 3 and 4 (also5and 6bed) villas...many overlook one of the 2 lakes... Why not put a reqest in on the dibb request section stating what you need, number in party and intended dates

We've stayed in Formosa area a number of times. Emerald Island, Sunset Lakes, Oak Island. We've also stayed further out at Bellavida (gated) Liberty Village off Poinciana (ungated) and Villa Sorrento. It all depends on what you are looking for really. We didn't have a problem staying in communities that were ungated. We enjoyed mixing with residents. The residential communities have a slightly more spaced out feel to them. Wider roads, more space (in our experience anyway).
When we stayed at Bellavida which was a newer supposedly much more luxurious community we enjoyed our holiday but felt wasn't really 'better' than others we had stayed in at different locations.
